This Privacy Policy applies to www.HeroMeLab.com (The Site) and Mobile Apps, regardless of how you use or access them.  Each time you access or use our Site or Mobile Apps, you agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.  Therefore, please do not use this Site if you do not agree to be bound by all of the terms of this Privacy Policy.  If you are visiting our Site, please be sure to review our Terms and Conditions of Website Use

HeroMe respects your privacy, and values your trust in our brand, practices, and policies.  Any personal information that you or your child share with us is treated with care, and this Privacy Policy has been adopted to demonstrate our commitment to the privacy of our customers, regardless of age. 

We encourage you and your family to enjoy your time on the HeroMe Website, but we urge you to use discretion and common sense when sharing any personal information on this Site or elsewhere.

This policy applies to www.HeroMeLab.com.  The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to outline what types of information we collect, how it is used, where it is used, and how to contact HeroMe with privacy inquiries.  As outlined in our Terms and Conditions of Website Use, this Site may contain links to Websites not owned or operated by HeroMe.  HeroMe is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of these sites, and we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any Website you visit. 

Collection of Information

You or your child may be prompted to provide some or all of the following information in order to purchase, register, access certain features, upload content, directly contact us, or access other features of this Site: contact information such as name or email address, user name and password, geolocation information,
other information such as city, state, or zip code, communications preferences, search queries, comments or other information posted through the interactive portions of this Site, correspondence you submit to us.

Use of the Information

In general, HeroMe uses the information we collect about you or your child to:

  • Fulfill purchase orders or requests for information
  • Display content or information specific to an account username and password or “Hero Code”
  • Display content or information you may be interested in
  • Customize the content displayed when you use the Site
  • Analyze the use of the Site in order to improve your user experience, such as determining which pages are the most popular, which browsers are the most used, how long users spend on the different pages, and referral links
  • Otherwise support the internal operation of the Site
  • Prevent potentially prohibited actions and enforce the Terms and Conditions of Website Use
  • For other purposes disclosed at the time we collect such information

HeroMe reserves the right to aggregate this information with information about other users so that it no longer identifies and cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual. 

Online Sales

www.HeroMeLab.com offers opportunities to purchase products on our Site or through our Mobile Applications.  Customers must be 18 years of age or older with a valid credit card to make purchases.  In addition, only a parent or guardian may register a child under the age of 13 to participate in certain subscription services or community areas associated with this Site.

When a customer places an item in their virtual shopping cart or purchases a product from this Site or a Mobile App, we collect information associated with that transaction, including: customer name, products ordered, shipping address, and contact information.  We also collect “ship to” information if products are to be shipped to someone other than the purchasing customer.  We do collect credit card information for payment purposes, but we do not store customers’ credit card or payment information.  To complete an order on the Site, customers are required to create an account.  To create an account, customers must register with their name, email address, and a password of their choosing.  When a customer creates an account, we will store the submitted name and email address but not the password. For future purchases on the Site, customers may identify themselves with their email and password.

Community Areas

Some areas of this Site may allow you or your child to upload pictures or stories about your HeroMes.  These Submissions will not be attributed to you by HeroMe.  However, if you choose to participate in these Community Areas, please be aware that information you share is public.  Please use caution in disclosing personal information.  HeroMe does not assume any responsibility for monitoring these areas, although HeroMe reserves the right to do so in its sole discretion.  HeroMe does not take any responsibility for the information submitted by you or your child in these areas or for the actions of other users with respect to the information shared.

By contributing to Community Areas, you give HeroMe permission to utilize your submissions for a variety of uses.  For more information, please see our Terms and Conditions of Website Use.

Your Choices and Access to Your Information

We respect your choices and preferences about how you receive information (promotional or otherwise) from HeroMe.  If you would like to stop receiving promotions or product information from HeroMe, or if you would like to update your contact information, please contact us at Customer.Service@HeroMeLab.com.  Our mailings and emails will also contain further information about how to “opt-out” of further communications.  Please note, email opt-out requests will be processed within 15 days, but postal requests may take additional time. 

Children’s Privacy

We take the privacy of our customer’s under the age of 13 very seriously.  We collect only the minimum amount of information required for participation and interaction with our Site, and we do not release personal information about children to third parties unless required by law.

Online Store Purchases: Children under the age of 13 are NOT permitted to make purchases from our online store without the express consent of a parent or guardian. 

Joining Our Email List: To join our email list, we ask for a first name and email.  Children under 13 must provide the email address of a parent or guardian, and they are not permitted to join without the express consent of a parent or guardian.

Parental Rights with Regard to Children’s Privacy: A parent or guardian has specific rights regarding the information a child under the age of 13 shares with HeroMe.  Please contact HeroMe for more information or to make any of the following requests: A right to review the information collected.  Please note: HeroMe may request information to verify identity to ensure we are speaking with the child’s parent or guardian.  A right to request that HeroMe remove their child’s personal information from our database. A right to request no further collection or use of information about a child. 

Information Sharing with Third Parties

We may share the information collected from you or your child in the following circumstances:

Authorized Third Party Service Providers: We may share information with our third party service providers to help us fulfill purchase orders and perform various functions necessary to maintaining the operations of HeroMe and the Site, including usage analytics, data processing, and account management.  For instance, our service providers may analyze our Site data and provide us with information about how we can improve the user experience for the majority of our users.

Business Transfers: We may share information during a substantial business transfer.  Substantial business transfers may include: a sale of HeroMe and/or the Site, a merger, a consolidation, an asset transfer, or in the unlikely event of a bankruptcy.

Legal Actions: We may disclose information in the event of a legal action requiring disclosure.  Such actions may include: subpoenas, court orders, legal process, law enforcement requests, legal claims or government inquiries, and to protect and defend the rights, interests, property, and safety of HeroMe, our users, and the public.

We are committed to protecting you and your child’s personal information.  We have taken reasonable technical, administrative, and physical measures to help protect your information from abuse, misuse, loss, or alteration.  Please note, NO DATA TRANSFER OR STORAGE CAN BE 100% SECURE.  We want you to feel confident using this Site, but HeroMe DOES NOT WARRANT THE SECURITY OF ANY INFORMATION YOU OR YOUR CHILD TRANSMIT TO US

Cookies and Web Beacons

We may use cookies, web beacons and other similar technologies to collect information about you or your child’s use of our Site.  Cookies are small bits of information that are stored by a computer’s web browser.  Web beacons are small images or data embedded in images that can recognize cookies, the time and date a page is viewed, a description of the page where the beacon is placed, and similar information from a computer or device.
